Accountant

Organisation: a growing care services provider in Western Australia, based in Belmont, Perth.

Role focus: an experienced Accountant who will own complex accounts receivable and financial reporting work, looking after NDIS and brokerage receivables and giving accounting support to the Support at Home function.

Scope: funding claims, reconciliations, month-end reporting and compliance, all aimed at keeping financial information accurate, transparent and well controlled.

Fit: proven experience, sharp attention to detail and genuine accounting capability, plus the ability to work smoothly with both finance and operational teams. Accountants applying from Pakistan should prepare an English CV that sets out receivables and reporting experience clearly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the NDIS and brokerage receivables cycle, covering everything from quoting and service agreements through invoicing, claiming and collecting payment
  • Check funding claims and fix those that come back rejected, late or short-paid
  • Match receipts to client accounts and reconcile funding payments and remittance advice
  • Keep watch on overdue balances and follow up debts in a suitable way
  • Balance the receivables control accounts, chase down variances and post any journals or adjustments the reconciliations call for
  • Act as accounting support for the Support at Home receivables team, helping with client budget reconciliations and tricky account queries
  • Confirm services, funding arrangements, agreements and invoices with the operations side
  • Reconcile intercompany, general ledger, bank and balance sheet accounts
  • Post accruals, prepayments, depreciation and similar entries
  • Help with each monthly and annual close, and with preparing cash-flow reports, balance sheets and profit and loss statements
  • Feed into management reports and financial analysis
  • Assist on budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and monitoring of spending
  • Support statutory obligations such as BAS, GST and payroll tax
  • Keep accounting records accurate and internal controls sound, and help refine accounting systems, reporting and receivables processes

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field of study
  • Professional accounting experience you can demonstrate
  • Solid track record across receivables, invoicing, collections, allocating payments and reconciling accounts
  • Hands-on with financial reporting, journal entries and month-end processes
  • Working familiarity with Australian accounting principles
  • Advanced Excel, along with experience in accounting and financial management software
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent eye for detail and well organised
  • Strong communicator in writing and in person
  • Works independently yet adds real value to a wider team
  • Treats confidential financial information with professionalism
  • Highly regarded: NDIS, aged care, Support at Home or government-funded receivables experience
  • Advantageous: experience with quotes, service agreements and funding schedules
  • Advantageous: knowledge of the SCHADS Award and Nurses Award
  • Advantageous: payroll processes and Employment Hero
  • Advantageous: CPA or CA qualification, or working toward one
  • Meets Australian employment and applicable sponsorship requirements; employer sponsorship available for the right candidate
