Architects / Architectural Technician

Trade · Crows Nest, Sydney NSW, Australia · Full-Time · $80,000/yr

Who is hiring: a long-standing architecture firm whose work covers major industrial developments right across Australia. It wants a Graduate Architect for its professional team in Crows Nest, New South Wales.

What matters most: getting projects delivered technically. In practice that means confident use of Revit, precise construction drawings, coordination with consultants and a real sense of how a design turns into something that can be built.

What to expect: substantial industrial jobs, alongside experienced Project Leaders and technical staff. You must be able to back up your project experience with evidence from past work and technical skill.

Prepare an English CV that names the projects you documented and the part you played in each.

  • Build and update detailed Revit models across a number of industrial projects, and suggest ways to sharpen Revit standards and in-house documentation workflows
  • Produce coordinated construction drawings and documents from design right through to delivery, converting architectural requirements into practical documentation
  • Bring consultant models together, find likely clashes before anything is built and help sort out technical coordination or documentation problems
  • Check shop drawings as part of technical review
  • Make sure documentation meets NCC requirements and the relevant Australian Standards
  • Help with site inspections and support projects during construction
  • Liaise closely with Project Leaders, consultants and other technical specialists
  • Keep every documentation package consistent, accurate and high in quality

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Minimum 3 years of demonstrated documentation experience using Revit
  • Strong hands-on Revit skills in modelling, detailing and documentation, and proven experience producing construction documentation on architectural projects
  • Demonstrated grasp of buildability and how technical coordination works
  • Working knowledge of the NCC and Australian Standards
  • Can pull together information from several consultants and disciplines
  • Careful, accurate work with strong attention to detail
  • Clear communicator and effective team member
  • Tertiary qualification in Architecture, Architectural Technology or a related field; relevant equivalent industry experience may be considered
  • Can show genuine project experience and technical capability
  • Accountable and professional in the way you deliver projects
