Who is hiring: reputable dealerships and automotive groups in several Australian states, with this listing based in Sydney NSW. Who they want: automotive technicians with an established workshop background.

Vehicle brands and technical settings vary widely, from premium European and luxury makes to Japanese, Korean and emerging electric vehicle brands. Positions on offer may include Automotive Technician, Senior Technician, Diagnostic Technician, Master Technician, EV/High-Voltage Technician and Technical Specialist.

Above all, you must be able to show what you have done, where your skills were developed and which technical work you are genuinely experienced in. Technicians in Pakistan should plan the English test and skills assessment steps well ahead and keep evidence of their work history in English.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service vehicles, complete scheduled maintenance and carry out mechanical repairs and part replacements
  • Track down mechanical and electrical faults with advanced diagnostic equipment and workshop technology
  • Inspect vehicles to find what repairs they need, then follow manufacturer repair procedures and technical specifications
  • Work on modern electronic vehicle systems and ECU technology
  • Take on EV, hybrid and high-voltage tasks where you hold suitable training
  • Log completed inspections, diagnostics and repairs accurately
  • Keep workshop practices safe and organised, and cooperate well with fellow technicians and workshop staff
  • Produce consistent workmanship and quality on every repair assigned to you

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Minimum five years of experience as an automotive technician in relevant work
  • A recognised automotive trade qualification
  • Earlier experience in a dealership or recognised OEM workshop
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, with proven fault-finding and diagnostic ability
  • Employment and workshop experience that can be verified, with supporting evidence for your qualifications and employment history
  • Manufacturer or brand training relevant to the role, where available
  • Experience with ECU programming or advanced diagnostics is advantageous
  • EV, hybrid or high-voltage experience is highly regarded
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Committed to safety and quality standards in the workshop
  • Completed TRA Skills Assessment
  • Required English-language test completed
  • Willing and ready to relocate to Australia; suitable overseas candidates may be eligible for sponsorship
