Key Responsibilities
- Cut and groom men's hair, covering haircuts, skin fades, taper fades, beard trims and styling
- Talk through each client's needs and suggest styles that suit them
- Make every client feel welcome and build loyal relationships through dependable service
- Keep every service accurate, consistent and up to professional standards
- Prepare, clean and care for tools, equipment and the work station, following hygiene, health and safety requirements
- Present yourself neatly and to a high standard
- Cooperate with the other barbers and support the whole team
- Join training, coaching and skills sessions, and bring new techniques and industry trends into daily work
- Work towards agreed service and performance targets, and offer ideas or support initiatives that improve the client experience
- Build leadership ability, accept more responsibility when the time is right and help keep the shop positive, respectful and high-performing
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 3 years of barbering experience at a professional level
- Hands-on experience in a commercial barbering environment that can be demonstrated
- Strong technical skill in men's haircuts, fades, styling and beard grooming
- Barbering experience that is genuine, verifiable and able to be shown
- A relevant employment history that backs up your professional experience
- Solid understanding of client service and professional barbering standards
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, with professional presentation and attention to detail
- A positive attitude, a strong commitment to teamwork and a reliable, responsible approach
- Willing to take part in ongoing training and skills development
- Able to adapt to varied client preferences and current barbering trends
- Genuine ambition to progress in the barbering industry
- Able to meet applicable Australian employment requirements; eligible candidates may be considered for visa sponsorship based on skills, experience and suitability
