Key Responsibilities
- Espresso: pull espresso-based coffees to the café's recipes and presentation standards, plus other hot drinks of consistent quality
- Equipment: run espresso machines, grinders and other beverage gear, and clean and maintain coffee equipment routinely
- Rush hours: keep the workflow moving efficiently when it is busy
- Customers: serve guests in a friendly, professional way, take orders and process payments accurately
- Food: help prepare and present café food items
- Stations: keep workstations clean and organised and service areas presentable and customer ready
- Supplies: check beverage stock and assist with stock control
- Open and close: support daily opening and closing procedures
- Safety: work safely and meet food hygiene standards
Requirements & Eligibility
- Proven hands-on barista experience
- Strong technical coffee-making knowledge
- Keeps quality and consistency high in busy periods, working fast without cutting corners on quality
- Background in hospitality or customer-facing service
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, plus good teamwork
- Reliable and committed at work
- High standard of cleanliness and personal presentation
- Understands food safety and hygiene practices
- Flexible for rostered shifts and weekend work
