Key Responsibilities
- Go through building plans, drawings and project specifications, then set out brickwork accurately before construction starts
- Mix mortar to the right consistency
- Lay bricks and blocks to the required lines, levels and specifications
- Check alignment with spirit levels and measuring equipment, and correct any alignment or workmanship problems
- Run brick cutting machinery and other trade equipment
- Finish brickwork to a high standard of quality
- Work with supervisors and other trades while following construction procedures and site safety requirements
- Keep tools, equipment and work areas in good order
- Get assigned tasks done efficiently and on schedule
Requirements & Eligibility
- Recognised Bricklaying trade qualification, at minimum Certificate III or equivalent
- Proven professional bricklaying experience
- Solid practical knowledge of residential and commercial construction
- Able to read and understand construction plans and to produce accurate, consistent brickwork
- Competent using brick cutting equipment, levels and measuring tools
- Understanding of workplace health and safety practices in construction
- Reliable, professional and committed, able to work independently and within a construction team
- Physically able to carry out bricklaying duties
- Able to supply evidence of relevant qualifications and work experience
- Overseas-qualified Bricklayers with suitable experience are welcome to apply; sponsorship is available for suitable candidates once qualifications and experience are assessed
