The employer, a reputable WA kitchen and cabinetry firm, is adding an experienced Cabinet Maker / Kitchen Installer to its permanent staff. You will read plans, prepare cabinetry and finish detailed installs in people's homes, so practical skill, an eye for detail and dependability all matter.
Candidates are judged on qualifications, work history and proven trade ability. The offer is full-time, permanent work, a steady flow of residential cabinetry jobs and room to grow a lasting career with an established firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Fit out homes with kitchens, cabinets and cabinetry parts
- Work from cabinetry plans, drawings and specs, measuring each space precisely to check the dimensions on site
- Put cabinets together and get them ready to install
- Attach doors, panels, fillers, kickboards and hardware
- Alter cabinetry on site where conditions demand it, and complete finishing touches
- Work with laminate, melamine and similar materials
- Solve installation problems with practical, workable fixes
- Ensure cabinets sit straight, level and secure, with careful attention to detail and a high quality of workmanship
- Deliver projects efficiently and in line with the specifications
- Collaborate with workmates and other trades, behaving professionally on customer premises
- Maintain a tidy, organised and safe workspace in line with workplace health and safety procedures
Requirements & Eligibility
- Must currently live in Australia
- A minimum of 5 years' relevant experience across cabinet-making, joinery or kitchen installation
- A trade qualification in cabinet making, joinery or a similar discipline is preferred
- Hands-on record of installing kitchens and cabinetry in homes, and strong working knowledge of how cabinets are built and installed
- Reads plans, drawings and measurements accurately
- Keen eye for detail and firm quality control
- Can modify work on site and problem-solve
- Communicates well and works as part of a team, yet can also work alone and manage allocated tasks
- Professional, dependable and safety-minded
- Holds an Australian driver's licence or is able to obtain one, and has reliable transport
- Verifiable employment history and proof of relevant trade experience
- Highly regarded: previous Australian industry experience
