This vacancy is for an experienced Carpenter in Christchurch, New Zealand, employed on full-time contracts by a New Zealand-owned workforce contracting business.
First, understand the work. You will be part of established construction teams on commercial, residential and industrial projects. The employer expects you to have used several construction methods and to deliver accurate workmanship in a safe, efficient way.

Key Responsibilities
- Complete general carpentry, framing, fixing and construction tasks on various sites.
- Carry out roof installation, repair, maintenance and connected roofing tasks.
- Measure, cut, assemble and install timber, framing, roofing materials and building components.
- Fit exterior cladding and architraves, and complete steel stud work.
- Read construction drawings, plans, specifications and measurements, follow all instructions, and work safely and efficiently to a high standard of workmanship.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Relevant residential or commercial construction experience.
- A strong work history.
- References that support your experience and your standard of work.
- Ideally, experience in general carpentry, framing, fixing, roofing, exterior cladding, architraves and steel stud work, and in reading construction drawings, plans, specifications and measurements.
- Advantageous: Site Safe and other relevant trade tickets and licences; your own hand and power tools are also an advantage.
- Advantageous: a Drivers license and your own vehicle.
