A construction company in Brighton, Melbourne, Victoria is expanding and wants an experienced Carpenter / Direct Stick Flooring Installer on a full-time basis.

The work: carpentry and engineered timber floor installations of a high standard, spread across a range of residential and commercial jobs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lay direct stick engineered timber flooring to a high standard, completing each installation safely and efficiently
  • Handle general carpentry on commercial and residential projects
  • Study plans, specifications and project requirements, then measure, cut and fit timber and other building materials precisely
  • Hold workmanship and attention to detail at a high level
  • Run carpentry tools and equipment and keep them maintained
  • Work on your own initiative and as part of the project team
  • Keep the workspace tidy and safe, following workplace health and safety procedures at all times
  • Support project planning and coordinate tasks where required
  • Deliver projects within the scheduled timeframes
  • Offer professional service and uphold quality standards on each job

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Minimum 3 years of carpentry experience preferred; a trade qualification in Carpentry or equivalent experience is also preferred
  • Experience laying direct stick engineered timber flooring is highly regarded
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Able to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn and build new skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills; reliable, punctual and committed to delivering high-quality work
  • Current driver's licence
  • Able to work on both commercial and residential construction projects
  • Strong understanding of workplace health and safety practices
