An experienced Carpet Layer is required in Auckland, New Zealand. The employer is a family-owned flooring business within a national network, recognised for quality workmanship. The position is long term.
The business is an accredited employer and can sponsor a suitable candidate under the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV).
The work is organised as follows. You report to one base every day. You complete residential and commercial installs for the business and its sister store. Each job runs from floor preparation through uplift and laying to a quality finish. Working days are Monday to Friday, with a couple of Saturdays per month. You will also support the training of an apprentice.

Key Responsibilities
- Complete residential and commercial carpet installations to a quality finish
- Carry out floor preparation and uplift before each installation
- Install to industry and manufacturer standards
- Run your own jobs in an organised way and deal professionally with customers at their homes
- Support the training and development of the apprentice
Requirements & Eligibility
- At least 3 years' carpet laying experience is the minimum
- Strong experience with textured and wool carpets
- Confidence with floor prep, uplift and installing to industry and manufacturer standards
- High standard of finish and pride in your work
- Reliable, organised and able to run your own jobs
- Polite and professional with customers in their homes
- Willing to mentor and support an apprentice
- Availability for a couple of Saturdays a month
- Must hold a Full NZ driver licence
- Ready to work from a single base each day
