Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out daily prep and mise en place to suit each service
  • Cook and present dishes to the established standards, with consistent taste, quality, portion sizes and presentation
  • Follow recipes, cooking methods and operational procedures
  • Stay efficient through busy services and adjust as kitchen priorities and service requirements change
  • Work closely with the kitchen team, backing up senior chefs and other staff when required, so service runs smoothly
  • Comply with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures
  • Keep workstations, equipment and prep areas clean and organised
  • Check the quality of ingredients and help with correct food storage
  • Help with stock rotation and suitable stock levels while reducing unnecessary food waste
  • Contribute to a positive, professional, team-focused workplace

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant commercial kitchen experience, with demonstrated confidence working in a professional kitchen
  • Verifiable employment history and relevant qualifications
  • Practical knowledge of commercial cooking techniques and food preparation
  • Strong commitment to presentation, hygiene and food quality
  • Able to stay productive and organised in a high-pressure environment
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Reliable attendance, a strong professional work ethic and willingness to work weekends and public holidays
  • Must currently be based in Sydney
  • Must satisfy applicable Australian immigration and sponsorship requirements; sponsorship available for the successful eligible candidate
