A kitchen in Belmont, Perth is looking for an experienced Cook or Chef who can produce fusion-style cuisine with confidence and help run an organised, high-performing team. It is a verified opportunity in Western Australia for someone ready to move their culinary career forward.
You will cover breakfast, lunch and dinner service, take charge of food preparation, quality and kitchen coordination, and keep building your expertise along the way.
Pakistani cooks and chefs, and applicants from other countries, should prepare an English CV that shows their kitchen experience clearly.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up cooking stations and prep ingredients before service, making sure knives, pans, scales and other equipment are ready
- Cook breakfast, lunch and dinner menu items, keeping fusion dishes authentic and true to recipe and quality standards
- Review recipes and adapt ingredients or methods as needed
- Cook and plate efficiently when service is busy, with attractive, consistent presentation
- Adjust meals within reason to suit customer requests
- Organise daily kitchen tasks and delegate work to team members
- Help supervise and train kitchen staff
- Brief front-of-house staff on daily specials and other kitchen information
- Track food stock, anticipate ingredient needs and help with purchasing and ordering
- Check the quality and freshness of food throughout operations, and discard expired or unsuitable items in line with food safety procedures
- Run commercial cooking equipment safely and effectively
- Keep the kitchen clean, safe and organised
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 2 years of kitchen experience, with proven professional work as a Chef or Cook
- Experience cooking fusion-style cuisine
- Strong knowledge of modern recipes and cooking techniques, including baking and pastry techniques
- Hands-on experience with grills, fryers, ovens and commercial kitchen equipment
- Leadership ability and confidence in supervising kitchen staff
- Able to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, with strong time management and organisational skills
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of food hygiene and sanitation regulations
- Able to keep food quality and presentation at a high standard
- Australian work rights or eligibility for a suitable sponsored visa
- Willing to work in Western Australia
- Visa sponsorship is available for eligible candidates
