Key Responsibilities
- Take charge of the wok station, handling preparation and cooking right through service
- Cook a range of Asian dishes with suitable commercial techniques, keeping taste, portion size, plating and quality the same every time
- Step in on the grill, fryer, pan and general prep sections as needed, adapting as service demands shift between sections
- Get food prep done quickly and efficiently before service starts and while it runs
- Apply food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures at all times
- Help track, rotate and count stock, making careful use of ingredients so less food is wasted
- Keep your station tidy and orderly during service and work closely with the other chefs and kitchen staff
Requirements & Eligibility
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, or an equivalent recognised qualification
- Minimum two years of relevant wok-station experience in a commercial kitchen
- Proven hands-on experience cooking Asian cuisine
- Solid practical skills across the wok, grill, fryer, pan and prep areas
- Able to keep standards consistent under high-pressure service, with sound knowledge of commercial food safety and hygiene procedures
- A dependable, professional and cooperative attitude, able to perform well as part of a fast-paced kitchen team
- Available for rotating rosters that include evenings, weekends and public holidays
- Able to supply verifiable proof of your relevant qualifications and employment experience
