A hotel venue in regional northern Victoria is recruiting a Chef, and Bendigo, VIC is the nearest main city. The opening suits a qualified chef who wants to leave city life behind or move up a level.
The chef heads each culinary team and answers to the Venue Manager. The venue expects modern, forward-thinking dishes from several cuisines, and a background in volume cooking or functions is an advantage. Sponsorship is available for this role.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop menus in an organised way
- Manage production and hold food to standard
- Control food costings
- Plan, manage and cost kitchen labour
- Meet KPIs and the standards executive management sets
- Support recruitment, then induct and train new kitchen staff
- Report clearly to management, brief staff and maintain hygiene, cleanliness and safety
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 2 years spent in a comparable high-volume venue
- Cert III or Cert IV in Cookery
- Professional conduct to a high degree, with energy and enthusiasm
- Strong operational kitchen knowledge, putting food quality and presentation first
- Sound financial judgement over kitchen costs
- Outstanding communication in writing and in speech
- Strong leadership, capable of running a multi-faceted kitchen
- Leads hands-on, coaching and motivating staff
- A proven record of solving problems
- Helps build and strengthen teamwork venue-wide
