Chef

Hospitality · Canberra ACT, Australia · Full-Time · $80,000/yr

Employer: an established hospitality group in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory (ACT), verified as a genuine Australian employer. Who they want: experienced Chefs, including capable Chef de Partie candidates ready to step up and Sous Chefs after a secure career they can stay in. The aim is to match the right person to the kitchen, rather than force anyone into a rigid title.

Where you would cook: restaurant service, high-volume pub kitchens, the grill and wood-fired stations, all with quality produce. Expect to build your technical skills inside a professional team that prizes consistency, cooperation and growth over time.

Why it stands out: you deal with a verified employer and a real career path, not simply an advertised sponsorship vacancy. Applicants from Pakistan should prepare an English CV first.

  • Turn out high-quality dishes that follow the kitchen's set recipes and standards
  • Take charge of your assigned sections during prep and service, moving between the restaurant, pub, grill and wood-fired areas when required
  • Make sure each dish sent from the pass is consistent in portion, quality and presentation
  • Get ingredients prepped and the day's mise en place completed
  • Work cleanly and in an organised way, sticking to hygiene, food safety and health and safety rules at work
  • Keep pace during busy, high-volume services
  • Support kitchen colleagues and talk clearly with other chefs so service runs without hiccups
  • Help keep quality high in every part of the kitchen
  • Take up ongoing training and development, and contribute to a reliable, respectful team culture
