A hospitality business in regional Victoria needs a Chef who can handle a busy kitchen and take on more than routine prep work.
What the job involves:
- Running the kitchen day to day, covering prep, service and food standards
- Helping to manage stock
- Putting forward ideas for specials and menu upgrades

Key Responsibilities
- Cook dishes from a varied pub-style menu to the kitchen's set standards for quality and presentation
- Organise the day's food prep ahead of each service
- Develop and deliver daily and seasonal specials
- Keep every plate consistent in portion, taste and presentation
- Handle food storage and preparation strictly by food safety rules, keeping the kitchen clean, hygienic and orderly
- Help with ordering, stock rotation and inventory control, tracking ingredient levels to cut avoidable waste
- Work closely with fellow cooks during service and keep front-of-house staff informed so meals go out smoothly
- Offer new dish ideas and take part in menu development
- Step in to assist other kitchen staff with prep and service tasks
- Stay professional and productive when the kitchen is under pressure
Requirements & Eligibility
- Demonstrated Chef experience gained in a commercial hospitality kitchen
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or a recognised equivalent qualification)
- Hands-on knowledge of current cooking and food preparation techniques
- Strong grasp of food safety, hygiene and workplace safety standards
- Able to handle several kitchen tasks at once without quality dropping
- A calm, efficient pace during high-volume service
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Can work independently and also contribute effectively within a team
- A positive, dependable and professional work ethic
- Available for evening, weekend and public holiday shifts
- Willing to contribute to the wider kitchen operation
