Chef De Partie

Position: Chef de Partie in a busy, professional kitchen in South Australia.
Your section, your menu: you will run an allocated station and turn out high-quality restaurant food, from premium steaks, ribs and grilled meats to burgers, pizzas and freshly made accompaniments.
The right fit: a motivated chef who is comfortable working alone on a section yet adds positively to a strong team.

Key Responsibilities
- Take charge of the kitchen section allocated to you
- Handle ingredient prep and daily mise en place
- Cook steak, rib and grilled meat dishes, plus burgers, pizzas, sauces, sides and other menu items
- Plate dishes to established quality standards, keeping flavour, portions and presentation consistent
- Keep watch over cooking processes and temperatures
- Work to food safety, hygiene and HACCP procedures
- Receive deliveries, store food and kitchen supplies properly, and help with stock rotation and inventory
- Look for ways to cut food wastage
- Keep your station clean, organised and service-ready
- Support and guide junior kitchen staff when required
- Communicate clearly with the kitchen and front-of-house teams, and help develop new menu items and daily specials
Requirements & Eligibility
- Commercial Cookery qualification at Certificate III or IV level, or an equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of relevant commercial kitchen experience, gained as a Chef de Partie, Chef or in a comparable position
- Strong cooking skills across different kitchen sections
- Grill and meat preparation experience is preferred
- Knowledge of HACCP and commercial kitchen safety requirements
- Performs well when service is busy, with strong attention to detail
- Good communication and teamwork
- Flexible about working a rotating hospitality roster
- Able to meet the requirements for visa sponsorship where applicable
