Kalgoorlie, Western Australia: an established hospitality operation is looking for an experienced Chef.

Your position: working beside the Head Chef with a direct hand in food preparation, kitchen organisation, service standards and team performance, while building valuable Australian hospitality experience in a regional setting.
Sponsorship: employer sponsorship is available for an eligible candidate, with potential pathways towards permanent residence under applicable arrangements. The business also participates in the Designated Area Migration Agreement (DAMA).

Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head Chef in running the kitchen each day, and take responsibility for kitchen operations whenever the Head Chef is absent
- Prepare, cook and present food to established quality standards, every time
- Show practical competence across kitchen sections, including grill, pizza, pasta and dessert preparation
- Finish prep and mise en place before service, and set up stations for efficient delivery
- Keep portions, presentation and food quality consistent all through service
- Perform well in busy, high-volume periods, using time and resources efficiently
- Keep work areas organised, clean and fully prepared
- Follow kitchen operating procedures plus hygiene and food safety rules
- Attend the daily kitchen briefing and communicate operational requirements
- Collaborate with chefs, kitchen staff and the wider hospitality team
- Guide and direct kitchen staff when required
- Maintain professional conduct, presentation and customer service
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 4 years of professional Chef experience
- Demonstrated experience in a comparable commercial kitchen, including a high-volume hospitality or restaurant environment
- Proven hands-on ability across several areas of kitchen production
- Grill, pizza, pasta and dessert experience is highly regarded
- Recognised culinary qualification obtained in Australia or overseas, or equivalent industry experience that can be demonstrated
- Strong understanding of commercial food preparation and service, and strong commitment to cleanliness, food safety and quality standards
- Able to coordinate or lead kitchen staff when required
- Strong time-management and organisational capabilities
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- A reliable, professional approach to workplace responsibilities, able to work independently while contributing positively to the team
- Current Food Safety certification is advantageous
- Current Safe Food Handling certification is advantageous
- Applicants must satisfy the relevant requirements for DAMA nomination and employer sponsorship
