Residential aged care, New South Wales: a Chef Manager is needed to take charge of kitchen operations. The role suits an experienced Chef who can demonstrate qualifications, practical expertise and the leadership to keep a team at consistently high standards.
Your main contribution will be meals that are nutritious, enjoyable and matched to each resident's needs, alongside efficient kitchen operations and food safety compliance. Real experience, strong leadership and a professional track record should stand behind your cooking skills.
Applicants from Pakistan should prepare an English CV and, if a police certificate is requested, a police character certificate.
Key Responsibilities
- Take charge of daily kitchen operations, organising food prep, the kitchen timetable and the flow of work
- Supervise, lead and support the kitchen team, building a positive, professional culture
- Plan and produce high-quality meals for residents, adjusting them for dietary, nutritional and individual requirements
- Uphold food safety, hygiene and HACCP procedures, and stay compliant with relevant workplace and food safety standards
- Check food quality, presentation and consistency
- Use food, equipment and kitchen resources efficiently
- Spot and introduce improvements to kitchen and dining operations
- Collaborate with care and support teams
- Build respectful relationships with residents, their families and colleagues
Requirements & Eligibility
- Recognised Chef qualification backed by supporting documents that are verifiable
- Professional Chef experience you can demonstrate, including previous kitchen supervision or management
- Experience in high-volume or large-scale catering
- Strong knowledge of HACCP and food safety requirements
- Able to prepare a variety of nutritious, high-quality meals, with an understanding of dietary and nutritional requirements
- Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
- Reliable and organised in managing a kitchen
- Previous aged care, healthcare, hospitality or institutional catering experience is advantageous
- Able to provide evidence of your qualifications and relevant work history
- Able to meet applicable Australian employment and visa requirements
