Key Responsibilities
- Cook, prepare and plate quality dishes to the set menu standards, with steady portion control, presentation and food quality
- Contribute to menu planning and help develop new dishes
- Run food prep and kitchen operations through each service, supervising, guiding and supporting cooks and other kitchen staff
- Keep track of stock, ordering, food costs and waste, following proper rules for stock rotation, temperature control and food storage
- Meet hygiene, food safety and workplace health and safety requirements, keeping equipment and work areas safe, clean and hygienic
- Work smoothly with the wider team so service stays efficient
Requirements & Eligibility
- A relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery, Hospitality or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of full-time, relevant commercial kitchen experience
- Strong skills in cooking, preparing and presenting food
- Has supervised or supported kitchen staff before
- Understands food costing, stock control, waste management and food safety
- Works efficiently in a busy commercial kitchen
- Strong communication, time-management and teamwork skills, and able to meet the visa sponsorship requirements that apply
