Chef
Hospitality · Panania, Sydney NSW, Australia · Full-Time · $80,000/yr
Kitchen: a high-turnover hospitality venue in NSW, adding an experienced Chef de Partie to its settled brigade.
Profile sought: someone who built strong practical ability through real commercial cooking and now wants charge of a station. Qualifications, past employers and practical capability will all be checked, so they must be provable. The employer wants more than a warm body for a vacancy.
Expectations: own your station, keep plates looking and tasting right when it gets hectic, and cooperate with the senior chefs plus the rest of the hospitality staff. Professional, consistent work is valued.
Package: 38 hours per week on a structured schedule, up-to-date kitchen facilities, and scope to advance in a professional environment.
Note: one requirement is full working rights in Australia, while eligible candidates may be considered for visa sponsorship; weigh both points before you apply.

- Prep: set up mise en place each day in line with what service demands
- Cooking: produce menu dishes using suitable commercial methods
- Plate standards: identical quality, portion sizes and presentation every time
- Rush periods: work at speed when volume peaks
- Working with others: collaborate with fellow chefs, apprentices and front-of-house, showing apprentices the practical tasks and established kitchen routines
- Cleanliness and safety: high personal hygiene, a clean bench, and compliance with food safety, HACCP and workplace health and safety rules
