Key Responsibilities
- Play a hands-on part in each day's production and service, from mise en place and prep to the wider running of the kitchen
- Produce modern dishes with a variety of proven cooking methods, bringing solid technical know-how to each task you are given
- Hold prep and plating to one consistent standard, checking every dish before it goes out
- Keep work moving efficiently in the lead-up to service, while it runs and once it ends
- Work as part of the brigade to meet the needs of each service
- Observe food safety, hygiene and work health and safety procedures, keeping your station tidy, orderly and safe
- Add to a cooperative, professional kitchen culture
- Keep personal grooming and presentation to a high standard
Requirements & Eligibility
- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery that is recognised, or an equivalent
- 1–3 years of professional kitchen experience that is relevant to the role
- Hands-on ability shown in commercial cooking
- Good working knowledge of varied cooking and preparation methods
- Familiar with hygiene, food safety and OH&S requirements
- Can turn out quality food consistently when the kitchen is busy
- Strong time-management and organisational skills
- Dependable, professional and well presented, and able to work and communicate well with fellow kitchen staff
- Available for a 7-day and evening roster that is flexible
- A current CV that shows your relevant qualifications and work history
