Key Responsibilities
- Lead from the front in daily operations and help senior chefs manage the kitchen day to day
- Produce modern dishes to a consistently high standard using a wide range of professional techniques
- Hold flavour, presentation and portion sizes steady
- Help plan prep, production and service
- Work closely with the brigade through service and keep workflow efficient at peak times
- Check food quality and prep standards
- Comply with food safety, hygiene and workplace safety procedures
- Keep the kitchen clean, orderly and professional
- Build a positive, cooperative team culture focused on performance
Requirements & Eligibility
- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery, or a recognised equivalent qualification
- Minimum 1–3 years in commercial kitchens
- Has held a Sous Chef, Senior Chef or comparable position before
- Strong technical cooking knowledge backed by practical kitchen skills, with demonstrated output of quality modern cuisine
- Works efficiently and consistently under pressure
- Strong communicator and team player, well organised and good at managing time
- Professionally presented with a dependable work ethic
- Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and OH&S requirements
- Available for flexible shifts on a 7-day roster, evenings included
- Can supply professional employment referees with current contact details
- Visa sponsorship can form part of the employment pathway
