Key Responsibilities
- Cook and plate meals to the venue's established standards, sticking to recipes for consistent quality
- Handle daily prep and mise en place, and organise preparation for lunch and dinner services
- Juggle several cooking tasks at once when service is at its busiest
- Check quality, presentation and portion sizes on every dish
- Help with menus and recipe development where required
- Keep your station tidy, clean and hygienic, applying the right food safety procedures
- Work as one with the wider kitchen team through each service, and step in on general kitchen operations as needed
- Finish prep and cooking on time and adjust as service needs and kitchen priorities change
- Perform consistently in a high-volume setting
- Contribute to a positive, cooperative and professional workplace
Requirements & Eligibility
- Demonstrated professional experience as a Cook or Chef, with proven work in commercial kitchens
- Background in busy, high-volume hospitality settings
- Able to deliver consistent food quality under pressure
- Sound knowledge of cooking methods and food prep
- Follows recipes and kitchen procedures accurately
- Strong time management and organisation
- Reliable, professional attitude to workplace responsibilities, a strong work ethic and a positive outlook
- Communicates and collaborates well within a kitchen team
- A genuine passion for food preparation and hospitality
- Available for weekend, early-morning and late-night shifts when required
- Previous multi-venue hospitality experience is advantageous
- Relevant culinary qualifications and/or substantial industry experience
- Able to meet applicable Australian employment and visa requirements, and willing to take part in the required candidate verification and assessment process
- Sponsorship available for eligible, suitably experienced candidates
