Opening: Chef, full-time and permanent, at a well-established restaurant in Queensland, Australia. The kitchen specialises in high-quality Asian-inspired food and is busy but supportive.
You will be closely involved in preparing food, developing menus, running kitchen operations and protecting food quality and safety. The employer is after a motivated cook who genuinely enjoys this style of cooking.

Key Responsibilities
- Cook top-quality meals that follow recipes and presentation standards, delivering excellent food and service at all times
- Help plan menus, develop recipes and refresh dishes each season
- Keep taste, quality and portions consistent by watching food preparation closely
- Handle stock rotation, inventory and orders, cutting food waste through good stock and kitchen control
- Keep the kitchen tidy, organised and efficient
- Make sure food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety regulations are met
- Work as one with the kitchen team during busy services and help train junior staff
- Check kitchen equipment and report anything needing maintenance
- Help improve kitchen operations and customer satisfaction over time
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent qualification
- Sound knowledge of commercial kitchen operations, with an understanding of food safety, hygiene and HACCP principles
- Excellent organisation and time management
- Able to work efficiently at a fast pace, communicating and working well in a team
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Willing to work evenings, weekends and public holidays
- Asian cuisine experience is highly regarded but not essential
- Committed to keeping food quality and presentation at a high standard
