Restaurant: an established venue in Woolloongabba, Brisbane, serving traditional Italian and Roman cuisine, fresh handmade pasta and carefully chosen local and international produce. Role: Qualified Chef in its professional culinary team.

The right candidate has a proven background in quality-driven restaurant or hotel kitchens and wants to use those skills in an Australian hospitality setting. Training, hands-on experience and kitchen ability are genuinely valued here. Working with an experienced team in a busy dining operation, you are expected to bring discipline, consistency and pride to each service and keep developing as a cook.

Applicants from Pakistan should prepare an English CV that lists their restaurant or hotel experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cook dishes to the restaurant's set recipes and quality standards, keeping quality and presentation consistent through every service
  • Help run the kitchen for daily lunch and dinner
  • Make traditional Italian and Roman-style dishes, using classical techniques across the menu
  • Help prepare handmade pasta and fresh ingredients
  • Get mise en place done efficiently ahead of service
  • Keep portions and plating to the set standards, and watch food quality from prep through to service
  • Follow hygiene, food safety and workplace procedures, with a clean, organised and professional station
  • Stay efficient through busy, high-volume periods
  • Talk clearly with the chefs and other kitchen staff, and help with stock preparation and general kitchen organisation
  • Help keep the team culture positive and professional

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience working as a Qualified Chef
  • A relevant culinary qualification or a recognised trade certificate
  • Proven background in a hotel or restaurant focused on quality
  • Strong hands-on skills in food preparation and cooking
  • Consistently produces dishes to a professional standard, with an understanding of classical techniques
  • Real interest in traditional cooking methods and Italian cuisine
  • Performs well in a high-volume kitchen
  • Strong teamwork and communication, plus good time management and organisation
  • Can multitask without losing attention to detail
  • Reliable and professional, and willing to learn and grow within an experienced culinary team
  • Available for scheduled lunch and dinner services
  • Where sponsorship is sought, applicants must meet the applicable Australian sponsorship and visa requirements; sponsorship is on offer for the right candidate
