Childcare Worker

The centre is after caring, motivated early childhood professionals who like designing positive learning experiences and want a rewarding long-term career with young children. Key Responsibilities
- Look after children aged 0–6 years with attentive supervision, care and guidance, in a stimulating, safe and caring setting where each child feels supported and valued
- Build up children's independence, confidence, curiosity and social skills, responding to each child's interests, needs and learning goals
- Help plan and run engaging learning experiences suited to each age, supporting educational programs in line with the Early Years Learning Framework
- Record children's progress, adding to portfolios, learning documentation, electronic programming and developmental records
- Form respectful, genuine bonds with children and families, and keep in regular professional contact with parents, guardians and colleagues
- Team up with fellow educators for consistent, high-quality care, bringing activities and ideas that get children learning and taking part
- Keep the centre inclusive and positive, following child safety procedures, workplace policies, regulatory requirements, the National Quality Framework and National Quality Standards
- Join in team activities, training and professional development
Requirements & Eligibility
- Holding, or currently studying towards, a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care; Diploma-qualified candidates are also encouraged to apply
- A real passion for educating and caring for young children, and a wish to build a long-term career in the Australian early childhood sector
- Patient, warm and positive with children
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to earn the trust of children, families and colleagues
- Responsible, reliable and professional at work, and a strong team player
- Energetic, enthusiastic and keen to learn, with a flexible, open-minded approach to children and educators
- Understanding of the EYLF, NQF, National Regulations and National Quality Standards
- At ease with computers and electronic documentation systems
- Current Queensland Blue Card, or the ability to obtain one
- Able to pass a National Police Check
- First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis training, or willing to obtain the required certifications
- Overseas candidates must satisfy the qualification and ACECQA assessment requirements that apply
- English language proficiency suited to the relevant visa pathway, and able to satisfy the Australian visa and sponsorship conditions that apply
