Position: Construction Technician / Assistant with professional construction teams in Otago, New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities
- Back up experienced tradespeople and supervisors on residential, commercial and infrastructure work
- Get worksites ready by organising tools, materials and equipment and keeping work areas clean, and set up temporary site structures, safety barriers and work zones
- Help with concrete work, from preparation and mixing through to pouring, spreading and finishing
- Assist trades with carpentry, bricklaying, roofing, flooring, plastering, painting, glazing, plumbing and drainage
- Handle general site preparation such as excavation, trenching, levelling and moving materials
- Help install pipes, fittings, drainage components and construction systems, including pathways for heating, cooling and ventilation
- Measure, cut, fix and place reinforcing materials such as steel bars and mesh
- Operate hand tools and basic power tools safely in line with site requirements
- Clear construction waste, keep the site orderly and report any hazards, defects or issues to supervisors
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and keep PPE standards up
- Work with site teams to meet project deadlines and quality expectations, and take on other construction support tasks as required
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 12 months of construction industry experience with proven practical exposure, and able to show genuine construction skills and previous site responsibilities
- Physically able to do manual work in demanding environments
- Strong grasp of construction site procedures and safe work practices
- Experience with basic power tools and hand tools
- Works well in a team and follows instructions from supervisors
- Reliable attendance, a positive attitude and willingness to contribute
- Committed to learning New Zealand construction standards and workplace expectations
