Key Responsibilities
- Cook Italian dishes to the kitchen's standards, helping with sauces, pasta and other traditional Italian prep
- Do mise en place and the rest of the daily prep
- Keep taste, presentation and food quality consistent, sticking to recipes, cooking procedures and the senior chefs' directions
- Stay quick and efficient through busy services
- Keep your station hygienic, clean and organised, following workplace health and safety and food safety requirements
- Lend a hand to other kitchen team members when asked, take feedback on board and put new techniques and procedures into practice
- Show professionalism, reliability and a positive outlook, helping make the kitchen productive and respectful
Requirements & Eligibility
- Demonstrated experience in commercial cooking, or a real interest in it
- Genuine passion for Italian cuisine
- Consistent and reliable at work, with a strong work ethic and readiness to take responsibility
- Able to take instructions and learn from experienced chefs
- Practical kitchen skills that match the candidate's level of experience
- Previous kitchen or hospitality experience is advantageous
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Keen to grow professionally within the Australian hospitality industry
- Candidates from entry-level up to experienced backgrounds may be considered
- Able to supply genuine, verifiable skills or employment information where required
- Must meet the Australian employment and visa requirements that apply; visa sponsorship available for eligible candidates
