Key Responsibilities
- Cook meals that follow approved recipes and menu requirements
- Make sure each meal suits the individual patient's dietary and nutritional requirements
- Organise food prep for the breakfast, lunch and dinner services
- Have meals ready inside the set production and service timeframes
- Keep food quality, consistency and presentation high
- Control portion sizes on every meal
- Apply food safety, hygiene, infection control and kitchen safety procedures
- Check food storage and rotate stock the right way
- Keep the kitchen clean, hygienic and organised
- Cooperate with the catering team so meal service goes smoothly
- Adjust to shifting operational needs while service standards stay high
- Help give patients a positive experience by preparing good food reliably
Requirements & Eligibility
- Demonstrated professional Cook experience in commercial kitchens, healthcare, aged care, hospitality, or catering
- Practical knowledge of how commercial food preparation and cooking procedures work, plus understanding of food safety, hygiene and safe food handling requirements
- Relevant food handling or food safety qualifications
- Able to follow recipes, menus, dietary instructions and workplace procedures consistently
- Able to work efficiently in a busy kitchen and meet strict service deadlines
- Strong teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills
- Willing to work rotating shifts, which include weekends and public holidays
- A professional approach, a strong focus on quality and attention to detail, and genuine interest in contributing to patient wellbeing through quality meals
- Able to satisfy applicable employment, work-rights, reference, criminal history and health-related pre-employment requirements
