You join a professional team that services equipment for clients. The work centres on crushing and screening machines plus other plant, fixed and mobile. Expect a steady mix of preventive servicing, diagnosing faults, repairs and looking after customers.
No two weeks look the same: you may be in the workshop, at a client's premises or out at a regional site. It suits a hands-on tradie who enjoys mechanical puzzles and takes pride in keeping vital plant up and running.

Key Responsibilities
- Keep a wide variety of heavy processing machines, mobile and stationary, serviced and in good order
- Handle inspections, preventive servicing, repairs and getting machines ready before delivery
- Work out why machines broke down and find the true source of mechanical problems
- Test hydraulic pressure and flow to diagnose faults, then fix, repair or swap out hydraulic parts after inspecting them
- Use OEM manuals, technical papers and hydraulic diagrams to guide repairs
- Fault-find on 12V and 24V electrical controls, using wiring diagrams plus voltage and continuity checks
- Head out to clients for breakdowns and technical service in the city, the regions and remote areas when needed
- Judge the condition of machinery and advise on preventive or corrective jobs
- Write up thorough technical and service reports after each job
- Log testing, inspections, repairs, settings and photos so the history is accurate
- Follow OEM specifications, safety standards and company procedures
- Speak with clients face to face and suggest workable technical answers
- Help clients keep their plant reliable and lose less time to stoppages
Requirements & Eligibility
- Recognised trade papers in Fitting, Boilermaking, Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline
- At least 2 years post-trade in a mechanical setting that suits the role
- Has worked on quarry, mining or fixed-plant machinery as well as heavy industrial or mobile gear
- Background with crushing, screening or mineral processing plant highly regarded
- Strong at diagnosing, troubleshooting, fault-finding and mechanical repairs
- Good hands-on hydraulic knowledge; reads electrical and hydraulic schematics
- Basic electrical diagnostic skills for 12V and 24V systems
- Full unrestricted Australian C Class Driver Licence, or can obtain one
- HR and forklift licences advantageous
- Happy to work in the workshop, on client premises or on site, and to travel to regional and remote locations
- Physically up to hands-on mechanical work
- Can meet pre-employment medical requirements and pass drug and alcohol screening
- Takes workplace health and safety seriously
- Dependable and self-driven
- Communicates professionally and gives good customer service
- Works well both alone and with others
