Position: Dairy Farm Hand. Location: Heytesbury Lower, South West Coast of Victoria. This is a genuine, verified vacancy on an established, large-scale dairy farm, suited to dairy hands who want to build an Australian farming career.
The farm wants someone hands-on and dependable who is at ease with cows and knows that animals need steady, consistent care. Expect to be part of every stage of the dairy routine: milking, feeding, managing stock, supporting calving and general jobs around the property.
It is more than an entry-level farm job. The operation is well structured, so you can gain local industry experience and play a real part in how the farm performs each day.

Key Responsibilities
- Take part in milking each day in the rotary dairy
- Move cows around the farm calmly, safely and without wasting time
- Keep watch on herd health and welfare, flagging any animal that needs extra attention
- Help cows through calving and care for the new calves
- Feed and raise calves according to the farm's routines
- Operate feeding machinery and get feed out to the stock
- Help out at more than one of the farm's sites
- Clean and maintain the dairy and its facilities, plus general farm tasks when asked
- Work hygienically and safely, following workplace and animal welfare procedures
- Cooperate with the managers and other farm staff
- Complete rostered jobs correctly and within the set timeframes
Requirements & Eligibility
- Has worked with livestock or on a dairy farm before, with hands-on cattle handling experience
- Knows the basics of animal care and day-to-day dairy routines
- Milking experience will be highly regarded
- Can stay safe around big animals and farm machinery
- Physically capable of manual work, standing and walking over extended periods
- Shows initiative and a strong work ethic
- Self-motivated, punctual and reliable
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong time-management and organisational ability
- Follows instructions and farm procedures, both alone and as part of the crew
- Must hold a valid driver's licence and have access to your own vehicle
- Willingness to live and work in Victoria
- Sponsorship available for the right applicant
- Accommodation limits this to a one-person position
