Electrical Linesman and crane/borer operator

Industry: electrical infrastructure in Australia, with openings across New South Wales for experienced powerline workers.
Positions: Distribution Linesmen, Transmission Linesmen, Transmission TAs and Crane Borer Operators.
Experience that counts: overhead distribution, transmission, pole construction, stringing, structural work or plant operation, provided you can clearly demonstrate and verify it.
Overseas candidates: experienced applicants from abroad are supported, and extra training can be arranged where required to bring existing qualifications in line with Australian standards. Workers in Pakistan should have qualification certificates and an English CV ready to share.
Key Responsibilities
- Distribution work: build overhead electrical distribution lines, dressing, standing and replacing power poles
- Infrastructure: install and maintain overhead electrical assets and string mains and conductors
- Transmission construction: build transmission lines, dress and erect transmission poles and H structures, and help construct and erect towers
- Climbing: go up electrical transmission structures as the job requires
- Stringing: carry out conductor stringing
- Drawings: interpret network drawings and line diagrams and work to them
- Inspections: check electrical transmission assets
- Hazards: spot risks and solve problems on site
- Support tasks: handle ancillary and supporting linework
- Plant: run crane/boring plant where authorised
- Procedures: comply with workplace safety and quality requirements
- Crew work: work productively alongside crews and site teams
- Travel: move between project locations as needed and take on occasional assignments away from home
- Overtime: work extra hours when required
Requirements & Eligibility
- Overhead electrical work: demonstrated practical experience
- Distribution or transmission linework: relevant experience
- Able to show your technical skills and past work experience
- Construction White Card and a driver’s licence
- Strong workplace problem-solving ability
- A dependable, team-focused attitude
- Able to work safely as conditions change
- Willingness to travel for projects and to take on short-term away work
- Certificate III ESI in Transmission and Distribution Overhead preferred
- Work at Heights preferred; CPR preferred
- Dogging preferred; Rigging preferred
- High Risk Work Licence preferred
- Overseas qualifications that are relevant will be considered
- Able to undertake further Australian-recognised training where required
