Event and Commercial Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and delivery of major sporting events, steering each one from early planning to the final event day
  • Help Race Directors run State Series and Championship events
  • Organise staffing, volunteers, contractors, logistics and on-the-day operations, taking charge of operational activity and making confident calls while events are live
  • Keep track of deadlines, resources, logistics and competing priorities, spotting operational problems early and putting practical fixes in place
  • Look after relationships with sponsors, partners, suppliers, contractors, volunteers and other stakeholders
  • Develop and sustain commercial and community partnerships, back sponsorship activation and find new partnership openings
  • Seek ways to lift participation, revenue, event quality and the stakeholder experience
  • Partner with marketing teams so events are promoted and communicated well
  • Take part in strategic projects and initiatives that help the organisation grow
  • Use your proven event management knowledge to keep refining how events are delivered

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Relevant event management experience is essential, demonstrated through professional event management or a related field
  • Proven record of coordinating and delivering events successfully, taking ownership and achieving practical outcomes
  • Strong skills in communication and building relationships
  • Experience dealing with sponsors, partners, suppliers or external stakeholders
  • A commercial mindset, with an understanding of revenue and business growth
  • Excellent planning and organisation, with close attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability
  • Able to perform well in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
  • A confident leadership style and a willingness to be hands-on
  • Strong focus on the customer, member and community experience
  • Able to manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time
  • Flexible availability for occasional weekend and extended event hours
  • Willingness to work in Western Australia; sponsorship available for eligible candidates
