A well-established agricultural machinery business needs a skilled mechanic whose trade qualifications, practical skills and work history can be clearly verified.

Key Responsibilities
- Look after agricultural diesel machinery, including servicing, upkeep and repair of tractors, harvesters, headers, sprayers, seeders and similar farm plant
- Track down mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic problems with modern diagnostic gear and electronic scan tools, then put them right
- Troubleshoot and fix engines, transmissions and driveline systems
- Run preventative maintenance to make machines more dependable, and inspect equipment to catch faults early, before they lead to major downtime
- Go out to breakdowns and repair machines in the field when farms are at their busiest
- Get workshop and on-farm repairs done efficiently
- Make, modify or adapt parts when the job calls for it
- Keep service and maintenance records accurate
- Work to the safety, environmental and quality procedures in place
- Talk clearly with colleagues, customers and other stakeholders
- Have machinery ready to go through planting and harvest seasons
- Be part of the seasonal on-call roster where needed
Requirements & Eligibility
- Recognised trade qualification in Heavy Diesel Mechanics, Mobile Plant Technology or an equivalent discipline
- Minimum 5 years of post-trade mechanical experience
- Demonstrated agricultural machinery experience is essential, including hands-on work with tractors, combines, headers, sprayers or related farm equipment
- Machinery experience in broadacre cropping, livestock or mixed farming is highly regarded
- Strong skills in finding mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and diagnostic faults, with the ability to locate problems and carry out repairs independently
- At ease working both in the workshop and outdoors in rural areas
- Fluent English communication skills are essential
- Current driver's licence; HR licence advantageous
- A solid work ethic, dependability and a professional attitude
- Evidence that supports your qualifications and relevant employment experience
- Candidates must be able to satisfy the applicable Australian employment and visa requirements
