Position: Farm Hand, Cairns, Queensland. Term: long-term, in the agricultural sector.

About the work: you will be one of a supportive crew that helps run the farm each day and keeps the welfare of the animals at a high standard. Key Responsibilities
- Make up feed to production schedules and give livestock their daily food and care
- Watch the health and wellbeing of the animals and raise any concerns straight away
- Move and inspect stock safely, and help with processing and quality assurance work
- Keep biosecurity and hygiene on the farm to a high standard, cleaning facilities, equipment and work areas with approved methods
- Drive farm vehicles and run machinery in line with your training and licence conditions, and check and maintain equipment so it stays safe to use
- Handle general upkeep of the property, such as weed control and mowing
- Fill in daily records, keep supervisors informed and pull together with the team on animal welfare, safety and production goals
Requirements & Eligibility
- A background in physically demanding work, whether farming, livestock, agriculture, construction, landscaping, manufacturing, warehousing or similar, is an advantage but not essential
- Happy to work outside in all kinds of weather
- Fit enough to do manual work for the whole working day
- Keen to pick up new skills, with a positive outlook
- Communicates well and works well in a team
- Takes animal welfare standards and safety at work seriously
- Dependable and available for rotating rosters, weekends and public holidays included
- Current driver's licence is desirable; candidates must be eligible for Australian visa sponsorship
