Floor Restaurant Manager

Business: a well-regarded Italian hospitality venue in New South Wales, offering an experienced Restaurant Floor Manager the chance to grow their career.
Ideal person: self-assured on the floor, skilled at running a dining room and genuinely familiar with Italian food, products and the culture around Italian dining.
Your place in it: the guest experience revolves around you. You keep the restaurant ticking along smoothly while guiding and growing the front-of-house crew.
Overseas applicants, including those in Pakistan, should note the role begins on a part-time basis with potential to move to full-time, and sponsorship is considered case by case on experience, skills and eligibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Floor leadership: head the front-of-house crew, oversee each day's service and run the floor so dining feels efficient and welcoming
- Liaison: line up restaurant activity with the chef and senior management, and back the management team in daily operations
- Duty allocation: assign staff responsibilities and keep service flowing
- Guest standards: see that diners get a consistently high level of service
- Supervision: oversee staff, sort out operational problems as they come up and check that workplace policies and procedures are followed
- Coaching: train and develop team members so they meet service expectations
- Hygiene: uphold strong standards of cleanliness, hygiene and food safety
- Stock: watch levels and keep stock records accurate, allowing for seasonal availability
- Suppliers: deal with suppliers and coordinate product orders
- Authenticity: protect the quality and genuine character of the Italian dining experience
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 3 years in relevant restaurant management or floor management
- Deep familiarity with Italian food, cuisine and products
- A proven record of leading and supervising hospitality staff, with strong leadership and team management capability
- Excellent customer service and people skills
- Can train, motivate and coordinate staff well
- Excellent at organising work and managing time, staying professional and composed in a busy restaurant
- Familiar with food safety, hygiene and workplace standards
- Strong communicator and problem-solver
- Italian background, or strong knowledge of Italian dining culture, highly regarded
- Dedicated to giving guests an exceptional experience
- Able to start part-time, with potential to progress to full-time
