Key Responsibilities
- Keep forklifts and a wide range of material handling machines running, with servicing, repairs and maintenance done both on customer premises and in the workshop
- Find faults, run diagnostics and put effective repairs in place using your technical expertise
- Carry out scheduled preventive servicing that gets the best safety, reliability and performance from each machine, then test and fine-tune units so they operate efficiently and without risk
- Assess equipment condition accurately and give sound repair recommendations
- Give customers prompt, professional technical support, representing the organisation through high-standard work, courteous dealings and a customer focus
- Complete job sheets and log every inspection, repair and finished task accurately
- Show strong safety awareness in line with Australian workplace health and safety requirements, and leave your tools, gear and work space orderly and safe
- Cooperate with customers, service crews and senior technicians, and deepen your product knowledge and technical skill via ongoing training, study and on-the-job mentoring
Requirements & Eligibility
- Demonstrated background working as a Forklift Service Engineer, Service Technician, Maintenance Technician or a comparable technical position
- Relevant trade qualification (Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Heavy Equipment or a related discipline) plus practical experience in the industry
- Minimum three years spent hands-on servicing, repairing or maintaining forklifts and material handling equipment
- Strong troubleshooting across hydraulic, electrical, mechanical and technical systems, including fault diagnosis and both corrective and preventive maintenance
- Communicates clearly in English with team members and customers
- Proven dedication to quality workmanship, safety at work and professional standards
- Can provide verified qualifications, work history and supporting evidence of skills
- Prepared to relocate to Australia for a long-term career, and driven to apply industry experience and technical ability in a professional workplace
- Must be able to meet the applicable Australian visa sponsorship and skills assessment requirements; eligible candidates can be offered visa sponsorship
