General Maintenance Supervisor

A well-established hospitality and accommodation property in Sydney needs an experienced General Maintenance Supervisor who can show proven hands-on skill across several trades.
The job: keeping accommodation facilities, public spaces, recreational amenities, landscaped grounds and the wider property infrastructure in good order, so the site stays safe, functional and welcoming for guests and staff alike.
The right person is a practical maintenance professional who can confidently take on many kinds of property tasks and respond well to maintenance needs in a busy, ever-changing hospitality setting. Key Responsibilities
- Walk the facilities to spot what needs fixing, and act quickly on requests raised by management and guests
- Complete repairs to buildings and carry out preventative maintenance
- Take on basic carpentry, painting, plumbing, plastering and all-round handyman jobs
- Look after guest accommodation, amenities, public facilities and recreation areas, along with pools, pumps and the general property infrastructure
- Run lawn mowers, brush cutters, tractors and other maintenance machinery
- Keep gardens, roads, fences and landscaped grounds in good condition
- Help with renovation, refurbishment and property improvement projects
- Make sure every job meets Workplace Health and Safety standards, and keep tools, equipment and maintenance records in order
- Contribute to the property's overall presentation and efficient day-to-day running
Requirements & Eligibility
- Previous work in general maintenance, building maintenance, facilities management or a similar role
- Hands-on skills across multiple trades, with the ability to work out the cause of maintenance issues and fix them efficiently
- Physically fit and able to do manual work
- Dependable and self-motivated, able to work without supervision
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Current driver's licence, or willing to obtain an Australian driver's licence
- Plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting or landscaping experience is highly regarded
- White Card is advantageous
- Forklift, tractor or excavator operating experience is desirable
- Previous experience in hotels, resorts, caravan parks or tourism facilities is preferred
