Position: Senior Hairdresser at an established salon in Albert Park, Melbourne. The salon wants a stylist who can prove practical, hands-on skill across cutting, colouring and styling, and who treats every appointment as a test of technique, client care and professional standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Hold a consultation with every client to work out what their hair needs, then suggest suitable home care and salon products
- Cut with precision using scissors, thinning scissors and clippers, including men's cuts and styling
- Apply colour and highlights, and carry out chemical straightening and other treatments where suitable
- Prepare clients with shampoo, conditioner and scalp preparation before each service
- Style for formal functions, events and professional sessions, including braids and hair pieces when needed
- Tailor each look to what the individual client prefers
- Keep your station clean, hygienic and in order, and hold your technical work and presentation to a high standard
- Grow repeat business by building friendly, professional relationships with clients and a loyal following
- Work cooperatively with colleagues to keep the salon supportive
Requirements & Eligibility
- Hands-on professional hairdressing background, with practical skills you can show
- A maximum of 5 years' experience working in the hair industry
- Strong skills in cutting, colouring and styling
- Practical experience with highlights and chemical treatments
- Comfortable cutting hair for both men and women
- Able to handle event and occasion styling competently
- Sound knowledge of hair care and of which products to recommend
- Confident consulting and communicating with clients
- Dependable, on time and well presented, with friendly, self-assured customer service
- Works well as part of a team
- Careful attention to detail and a clear commitment to quality
- Flexible about working hours
- Sponsorship can be offered to the right candidate
