HD Mechanic

Overview: HD Mechanics with a solid background on heavy mining equipment can apply to take their trade skills into an international setting in the USA, inside a major mining operation.

Focus of the work: practical capability. You will diagnose faults, keep complex machinery maintained and make sure critical equipment runs safely and reliably. Your trade qualification, work history and hands-on experience with the equipment will weigh heavily when your suitability is assessed.

Terms:

  • 2/1 roster
  • initial contract of 12 months, possibly extended
  • quality tooling, competitive remuneration and overtime opportunities

For workers leaving Pakistan, complete registration with the Protector of Emigrants and confirm current rules with the Bureau of Emigration & Overseas Employment before travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Look after heavy mobile mining equipment through servicing, planned preventative maintenance and scheduled inspections
  • Investigate mechanical faults with accurate diagnostics, and troubleshoot equipment performance to uncover the underlying problem
  • Repair or replace mechanical components when required, working from technical documentation and diagnostic information
  • Handle Sandvik, Epiroc, CAT, Komatsu, Hitachi and comparable machines
  • Support equipment availability and keep operational downtime to a minimum
  • Follow site procedures on every maintenance job
  • Log all completed repairs, inspections and maintenance activities
  • Apply high standards of workplace safety in all maintenance tasks
  • Collaborate with site teams to keep the mining operation reliable

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Recognised trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel, HD or Mobile Plant Mechanic, with at least 5 years of post-trade industry experience
  • Demonstrated experience on mining machinery or heavy mobile plant
  • Practical experience with major OEM equipment, including Sandvik, Epiroc, CAT, Komatsu or Hitachi
  • Strong diagnostic, fault-finding and mechanical repair skills
  • A work history backed by relevant employment documentation
  • Able to show genuine hands-on technical experience
  • Willing to work a 2/1 roster and able to work safely in a demanding mining environment
  • Willingness to relocate to the USA
  • Able to meet applicable visa and sponsorship requirements
