Role summary: Head Chef, permanent and full-time, running the kitchen of a respected care community in Victoria, Australia. Sponsorship is offered to eligible candidates.
The heart of this job is food that gives residents comfort, connection and joy. You will plan seasonal menus with real creative freedom, guide a committed kitchen team and turn each meal service into a high-quality dining experience that improves residents' days.

Key Responsibilities
- Head the kitchen team with a confident, upbeat and professional manner, coaching, guiding and supporting each team member
- Plan menus around seasonal produce and what residents like to eat
- Cook tasty, nourishing and balanced meals, plated to a reliably high standard
- Cater for each resident's individual dietary and nutritional needs
- Make every mealtime an enjoyable dining experience for residents
- Uphold strong food safety and hygiene standards, keeping all kitchen practices compliant with relevant requirements
- Handle food orders and supplier needs, tracking stock to cut avoidable waste
- Oversee kitchen spending and keep to budget
- Foster a kitchen culture that is positive, safe and collaborative
Requirements & Eligibility
- A recognised Commercial Cookery qualification
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent is preferred
- A Food Safety Supervisor Certificate, plus a sound grasp of food safety and hygiene practice
- Background as a Head Chef or in another senior culinary leadership role
- Track record of building menus and handling dietary requirements
- Experience controlling kitchen costs and stock
- Excellent skills in leading and managing people, with strong communication and planning
- Genuine passion for outstanding food and service
- A caring, respectful way of working with residents
- Able to undergo a medical assessment and background checks
- Meet the Police Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check requirements
