The venue: a boutique hospitality business in Queensland that is growing and already runs a successful food operation.
The role: Head Chef, in charge of the kitchen team and daily operations, with real influence over menus, specials and food quality. It is more than a standard kitchen job.
The person: a chef who brings technical skill, creative ideas and strong leadership, and wants to help steer the venue's next stage. Your professional background is at the centre of the role, and there is room to build your reputation as the business grows.

Key Responsibilities
- Set the culinary direction together with management
- Build a seasonal menu that keeps guests interested, and keep it up to date
- Create specials and help put together event and function menus
- Run lunch and dinner service and lead from the front when the kitchen is busy
- Hold kitchen standards steady in every trading period
- Train and grow the kitchen team, and prepare workable rosters
- Organise food prep each day so quality and presentation stay consistent
- Handle ordering, inventory and stock rotation
- Keep food costs under control and cut kitchen waste
- Uphold HACCP and food safety standards in the workplace
Requirements & Eligibility
- Strong Head Chef background, or an experienced Sous Chef looking to step into a leadership position
- Cert III/IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
- Strong record of developing menus
- Creative approach to modern Mediterranean-inspired food is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to run a busy commercial kitchen and proven skills leading a kitchen team
- Strong knowledge of food costing and stock management
- Excellent understanding of food safety procedures
- Available to work Wednesday to Sunday, and comfortable with weekends and busy service periods
- Strong skills in communication and organisation
