Key Responsibilities

  • Own daily kitchen operations and service preparation
  • Cook authentic Singaporean and Malaysian dishes to a steady commercial standard, showing strong hands-on skill with wok cooking, noodles, rice dishes, curries and sauces
  • Keep flavour, presentation and portions consistent
  • Plan prep schedules around expected service demand
  • Bring practical ideas for new dishes and menu development
  • Check ingredient quality and make sure correct preparation methods are used
  • Handle ingredient orders, deliveries, storage and stock rotation, tracking usage, portion sizes, costs and wastage
  • Lead, coordinate and train kitchen staff in preparation, cooking and kitchen procedures
  • Keep communication clear between the kitchen and the service team
  • Oversee food safety, hygiene, temperature control and allergen requirements, and get takeaway orders out accurately and on time
  • Look after kitchen equipment, enforce safe operating procedures and act on any operational or equipment issues
  • Keep the kitchen clean, organised and professional

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Proven professional experience as a Head Chef, Sous Chef or senior chef
  • Strong practical background in Singaporean and Malaysian cuisine, with proven hands-on skill in wok cooking, noodles, rice dishes, curries and sauces
  • Commercial kitchen experience in a busy takeaway, restaurant or quick-service setting, keeping food quality consistent when service is busy
  • Previous experience leading, supervising or training kitchen staff
  • Strong practical kitchen management and organisation
  • Knowledge of commercial food safety and hygiene standards
  • Experience with stock management, food costing and wastage control
  • Communicates well with kitchen and service teams
  • Relevant commercial cookery qualifications are desirable
  • Able to provide genuine evidence of your professional experience and qualifications
  • Available for full-time work, including weekends and public holidays as required, and must meet applicable requirements for employer sponsorship and visa eligibility
