Key Responsibilities
- Service lead: own the delivery of consistently strong front-of-house service, and represent the business with reliability, professionalism and integrity
- Arrivals: greet each guest warmly and professionally so the first impression is right
- Tables: run table service smoothly from the moment guests sit down until they leave
- Product knowledge: explain food, wine, coffee and other drinks with confidence, and suggest suitable food and wine pairings
- Wine: deliver professional wine service while holding service standards
- Coordination: work hand in hand with kitchen and floor colleagues, keeping service smooth when the room is at its busiest
- Guest care: watch satisfaction levels, respond quickly to individual requests and handle any concern professionally so the experience stays positive
- Mentoring: help guide and support other service staff
- Standards: keep cleanliness, presentation and organisation at a high level, and follow responsible alcohol service procedures and venue policies
- Open and close: help with daily opening and closing routines
- Improvement: put forward ideas and effort that lift the overall guest experience
Requirements & Eligibility
- Experience: Minimum 3 years in relevant restaurant roles
- Fine dining: a proven background in professional or fine dining service preferred
- Seniority: previous senior waiter, head waiter or similar experience highly regarded
- Restaurant know-how: strong practical command of restaurant operations and table service
- Wine and produce: confident wine knowledge and professional wine service, plus a genuine interest in food, wine and coffee
- Language: Fluent English and strong spoken communication
- Certification: valid RSA or Manager's Liquor Licence
- Pressure: proven ability to stay effective under pressure, juggle competing priorities and keep service standards consistent across busy shifts
- People skills: strong teamwork, leadership and interpersonal ability
- Presentation and reliability: professional appearance, positive attitude, dependable work habits and strong attention to detail
- Hours: willing to work weekends and normal hospitality trading hours
- Evidence: able to provide proof of relevant employment history and experience
- Sponsorship: candidates meeting the required criteria may be considered
