Where: a diverse fleet operation in Western Australia, advertised in Perth.
The fleet: buses, coaches, prime movers, light vehicles, cranes and small plant.
Who it is for: qualified mechanics who are confident diagnosing faults, completing repairs and maintaining vehicles to a high professional standard.
Arrangements: both FIFO and residential options are available, with 482 visa sponsorship for eligible candidates. Applicants in Pakistan should prepare an English CV and, before travelling, complete Pakistan's emigration formalities, such as registration with the Protector of Emigrants.
Key Responsibilities
- Keep a varied heavy vehicle fleet serviced and maintained, carrying out preventative maintenance programs
- Inspect vehicles to work out what maintenance is due
- Diagnose mechanical faults and decide how to fix them
- Repair mechanical faults and replace components on diesel engines and heavy vehicle systems
- Help with breakdown call-outs and field maintenance
- Get through allocated workshop and maintenance jobs efficiently
- Keep workmanship and safety at a high standard
- Follow all operational, safety and compliance procedures
Requirements & Eligibility
- Holds a trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle, Diesel or Bus Mechanic
- Relevant background on heavy vehicles or commercial fleets, including buses, coaches, trucks or similar equipment
- Good diagnostic and fault-finding ability
- At ease with a wide mix of vehicles
- Able to work in regional and remote WA locations
- Reliable, adaptable and safety-minded
- Current driver's licence (HR desirable)
- Able to meet pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening requirements
