Role: an experienced Diesel Mechanic who will service, repair and diagnose heavy vehicles as part of a professional crew.

Key Responsibilities
- Handle general servicing, maintenance and mechanical repair on commercial vehicles and heavy trucks
- Use modern diagnostic gear and technology for advanced fault finding, checking and testing each vehicle so problems are pinned down quickly and correctly
- Fix mechanical and electrical faults to industry and manufacturer standards, with every repair finished safely and to a high quality
- Cooperate with fellow technicians, service advisors and the parts department
- Deal with customers professionally and keep them informed
- Keep workshop paperwork and service histories accurate
- Comply with health and safety procedures at all times
- Keep pace with changing vehicle technology through ongoing training, and help the workshop run efficiently and meet its service targets
Requirements & Eligibility
- A relevant automotive qualification, preferably as a qualified Diesel Mechanic
- Proven hands-on experience repairing trucks or heavy vehicles mechanically
- Experience with franchise truck dealerships is preferred but not essential
- Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
- Can diagnose and fix complex vehicle problems
- Committed to accuracy, efficiency and quality workmanship
- A real passion for trucks and the heavy vehicle industry
- Comfortable working alone or as part of a professional team
- Truck licence or forklift licence is advantageous; applicants from New Zealand and overseas with suitable experience are encouraged to apply
