HVAC Tradesperson / Air Conditioning Technician

Scope of work: installation, servicing, fault diagnosis and ongoing HVAC maintenance, where quality workmanship, technical knowledge and dependable service are essential.

Key Responsibilities
- Install, service and maintain HVAC and air conditioning systems, including split systems, ducted systems, commercial air conditioning and related equipment
- Inspect HVAC equipment thoroughly and identify faults
- Diagnose refrigeration-related, mechanical and electrical issues, using practical diagnostic skills to choose efficient repair methods
- Complete scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
- Carry out breakdown repairs and return HVAC systems to a safe operating condition
- Handle refrigerant recovery, leak detection and charging to the required standards
- Test how systems perform and adjust them for efficient operation
- Follow established safety procedures and industry requirements on site
- Keep accurate records of servicing, repairs and maintenance, documenting faults, repair activities and outcomes in the required systems
- Cooperate with clients, technicians, supervisors and other trades
- Represent the business to a professional standard
- Keep work areas, equipment and tools organised and compliant with safety requirements
Requirements & Eligibility
- Relevant trade qualification in Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, HVAC or a related discipline
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant practical HVAC or air conditioning experience preferred
- Demonstrated experience installing, servicing, maintaining and repairing HVAC systems, with strong diagnostic, troubleshooting and fault-finding ability
- Able to demonstrate technical experience that is genuine and verifiable, and to provide supporting employment and qualification documentation
- Strong understanding of HVAC maintenance procedures, electrical safety and workplace safety
- Able to work independently and contribute positively to a professional team, with strong customer service and communication skills
- Experience with commercial, industrial or specialised air conditioning systems is advantageous
- Experience with refrigerant handling and refrigeration systems is advantageous
- Experience with HVAC control systems, wiring and electrical controls is advantageous
- Breakdown and preventative maintenance experience is advantageous
- Able to obtain a Police Clearance and to complete required drug and alcohol screening where applicable
- Willing to complete relevant identity, qualification and employment verification
