Who is hiring: a specialist engineering and manufacturing company in Malaga, Perth, Western Australia. Who they need: a First Class Machinist with proven technical ability, real workshop background and a firm grasp of precision manufacturing.
Day to day, you would work from engineering drawings, set up and run CNC equipment, take on manual machining jobs and deliver parts that meet demanding standards every time. A background supporting defence, marine, energy or mining manufacturing will count strongly. Tradespeople with genuine, verifiable experience are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities
- Read engineering drawings, specifications and machining requirements, then choose the right tooling, materials and processes
- Set up, program and run CNC lathes and machining centres to suit each job, using Okuma or equivalent CNC equipment
- Apply One-Touch programming when the job calls for it
- Run manual lathes and other conventional machining equipment
- Produce precision metal parts to the specifications required, checking every finished piece for quality and accuracy
- Track down and fix problems with machining or equipment
- Look after routine machine maintenance and keep the workshop tidy, safe and organised
- Stick to the established production and quality procedures
- Work at a pace that meets project requirements and production schedules
Requirements & Eligibility
- A recognised trade qualification in Metal Machining, or an equivalent
- At least 3 years of machining experience after completing your trade
- Strong hands-on CNC machining experience, including CNC lathes and machining centres
- Okuma experience is highly desirable
- One-Touch programming experience is advantageous
- Reads and interprets technical drawings with confidence
- Able to demonstrate genuine employment and trade experience that can be verified
- Strong focus on quality and precision
- Forklift LF Class licence preferred
- Australian Driver's Licence preferred
- Able to complete pre-employment medical requirements and drug and alcohol screening
- Full Australian work rights, or eligibility for employer sponsorship
