Maintenance Fitter

An established FMCG manufacturing operation in Western Australia needs a qualified Maintenance Fitter to keep its production machinery dependable. The emphasis is on prevention: catching problems early, stopping failures and keeping equipment efficient in a fast-moving plant.

Your week will mix planned maintenance, mechanical fault-finding, repairs, inspections and improvement work, and your technical judgement will feed straight into keeping output on track.

The employer puts real weight on verifiable qualifications, genuine work history and technical capability. Tradespeople in Pakistan should prepare an English CV listing trade certificates and past employers clearly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver preventative maintenance, scheduled servicing and inspections on production machinery and fixed plant
  • Attend breakdowns and equipment failures without delay, diagnose the mechanical fault and choose the right repair
  • Carry out mechanical repairs in a way that keeps production interruptions to a minimum
  • Pick up developing mechanical issues while inspecting machinery
  • Service conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, motors, bearings and pneumatic equipment
  • Support changeovers, modifications and upgrades to production equipment, as well as continuous improvement projects
  • Investigate faults that recur and recommend corrective actions
  • Record maintenance and service work accurately
  • Work alongside production personnel so the plant runs reliably, and help shape a proactive, professional maintenance environment
  • Apply workplace health and safety requirements at all times, together with food manufacturing, hygiene and site-specific procedures

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade, Mechanical Fitting or an equivalent qualification
  • Demonstrated work history as a qualified Maintenance Fitter
  • Background in FMCG, food manufacturing or other high-volume production environments
  • Strong ability in mechanical troubleshooting and fault-finding
  • Experience maintaining fixed plant and automated production equipment
  • Hands-on experience with conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, motors, bearings and pneumatic systems
  • Practical understanding of preventative maintenance strategies
  • Ability to work confidently in both breakdown and planned maintenance
  • Strong focus on safety, production efficiency and machinery reliability
  • Ability to work independently and contribute effectively within a maintenance team, with good communication and practical problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to work rotating day and afternoon shifts
  • Trade qualifications and employment experience that are genuine and verifiable
